Students' Reaction

The class did a fantastic job at answering and asking questions.

Questions I was asked

What other forms of energy sources are there?

Geothermal and biomass are two examples. Geothermal power is energy generated by heat stored in the earth. The largest geothermal field is located in California. That power plant uses steam generated by the earth’s heat to raises the temperature of water and create steam. This steam then turns turbines, generating electricity.

Biomas is a mechanism where plants are used to generate electricity. Everything from corn to switchgrass can be used. Typically the plant material is burned to turn a turbine.

Overall Impression

My time in the classroom was both exciting and energizing.
