Sharp volunteers enjoy talking with students around the country and learning about your ideas to help the planet. On the Eco-Blog, Sharp Solar Academy volunteers share students' ideas and their own observations about climate change and the environment. Together we can make a difference.
Saving the World One Sandwich at a Time
Did you know that you can help the environment just by eating a sandwich! A few times a week I like to add some variety to my usual routine and eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (PB&J), a salad, or some left-over pasta. Each time you have a plant-based lunch like a PB&J you'll reduce your carbon footprint by the equivalent of 2.5 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions over an average animal-based lunch like a hamburger, a tuna sandwich, grilled cheese, or chicken nuggets. And it tastes great and it’s good for you!
The PB&J Campaign is working to combat environmental destruction by reducing the amount of animal products people eat. Get more information at www.pbjcampaign.org.
